Hello and welcome to our new website. My name’s Roger Makepeace from Bright Psychology and I am excited to share some of the new developments and workshops we have to offer.

I have been inspired over recent years by the movement of Positive Psychology together with the benefits that sport and exercise can have on people’s mental health. I have seen this first hand and believe that whilst changing how we think, feel and behave is challenging, it’s totally achievable! It takes some key ingredients such as acceptance of where we are, some motivation to change and time to do it. We can also help ourselves through communicating with others and talking about how we feel. I’ve seen how sport and exercise lends us this unique opportunity which can help us grow at a personal and social level.

You will be seeing more of this in my posts to come and I’ll be talking about various psychology trends, useful theories and how we can use these in practice. I hope this will be helpful and of interest to others.
